Public Lecture: The role of investigative journalism in combating global corruption

SSE Riga Bachelor programme students are offered an elective course titled “Understanding and Preventing Corruption”. On April 29, within this elective course, Sanita Jemberga will be speaking about a topic that might be of interest to the broader audience therefore we have made the lecture open to the public. The lecture will take place on-site and we invite everyone interested in the topic to join. No prior registration is required.

In the lecture, Sanita will present several of the case studies from these investigations and talk about their impact on politics and assets' recovery.

Sanita Jemberga is editor of the Baltic investigative journalism center "Re:Baltica '' which for the last 10 years has been the leading investigative journalism non-profit in the Baltic region.

Having worked on many international collaborative journalism efforts investigating money laundering and its enablers, her latest work was on Belarussian sanctions' evaders and Latvian part Russian asset tracker with OCCRP (Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project).
