Library

The SSE Riga Library's collection encompasses key fields in business and economics, with over 25,000 books. Additionally, the library maintains subscriptions to over 100 prominent national and international economics and business journals, as well as newspapers. It also provides access to various national and international online databases.

The library functions are fully automated, and an online catalogue can be used to locate books, Bachelor's and Master's theses. Registration is required in order to borrow books and other publications. There are two reading halls, computers, and copying and printing facilities available for readers.

 

IT support

SSE Riga students are granted student accounts that include SSE Riga e-mail addresses, cloud storage and many more features for the duration of studies. SSE Riga courses are organized on an online e-Learning platform. 

WiFi is available in all academic and administrative spaces across campus. Students receive full Microsoft Office software and access to various library databases free of charge. Direct IT support is provided by the IT department to students.

 

Cafeteria

The cafeteria provides students with hot meals, cold dishes, salads, drinks and snacks. It is located on the ground floor. The average meal costs EUR 4. The cafeteria is open Monday through Friday.

 

Accessibility

Rooms at Strēlnieku Street 4a, which are used for lectures and independent study work, are available for people with mobility disabilities, and a special lavatory is designed to accommodate people with mobility disabilities (on the ground floor). It is possible to enter the building, the library and all study facilities independently; there is a spacious elevator on all floors of the building.

 

SSE Riga Student Residence Hall

We are pleased to offer our students accommodation at the SSE Riga Student Dormitories. The dormitories are located at Patversmes iela 22, Riga, and are about 20 minutes by bus from SSE Riga.

The Dormitories are for SSE Riga students only.

The prices range from 170 - 230 EUR per month. We have the following units available: Triple room with shared bathroom: 170 EUR per month (43 beds available), double room with shared bathroom: 190 EUR per month (16 beds available), double room with private bathroom: 230 EUR (12 beds available). Prices include all utilities: electricity, heat, hot water, wifi internet, and kitchen facilities. A 100 EUR security deposit is required. Please note that contracts for the dormitories are executed on a semester or school year basis, and are not available on a month to month basis. The minimum term for a contract is one semester.  

The Dormitories have four large shared kitchens, as well as study rooms and a leisure room, and wifi internet throughout. 
 


If you are interested in living in the Dormitories, please email the property manager Janis Meija (janis.meija@sseriga.edu) and include the following information: 1) your full name and study year, 2) type of room you are interested in, 3) which semester you would like to live there (whole year or one semester), 4) roommate preference, and 5) your country of origin. Availability is based on a first-come first-served basis, so make your reservations today!

Our building

The SSE Riga building is located in the heart of Riga's Art Nouveau district. It is within walking distance of the very city centre of Riga (10-15 minutes by foot).

Sporting activities

SSE Riga students can participate in the following sports activities: yoga, aerobics, basketball, volleyball, floorball, table tennis and swimming. It is free of charge!

SSE Riga dormitory has a unique atmosphere - it is a fascinating mixture of various cultures, be it Ukrainian, Moldovan, Georgian, or even Brazilian. What I appreciate the most is the welcoming and supporting spirit of every dorm person.
