Faculty
Theresa Harrer, PhD - Postdoctoral Researcher at Hanken School of Economics
Theresia Harrer is a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Accounting Finance and Governance within the Department of Accounting and Business Law in Helsinki. She investigates the societal implications of sustainability reporting and the role of societal values in investment decision-making. In her doctoral thesis she focused on trust and legitimacy dynamics in alternative financing instruments such as impact investing and crowdfunding. She has also contributed to various research projects investigating the relevance and effects of sustainability reporting for Cleantech ventures.
Annukka Paloheimo, PhD – Senior Advisor
Annukka Paloheimo has got more than three decades of experience in strategic market research within the financial services industry. She is also a founder and the former Managing Director of SFR Scandinavian Financial Research Ltd, a benchmark researcher of the Finnish financial market. Paloheimo also has a PhD from New York University Stern School of Business, where she has acted as a Visiting Scholar for responsible investing and private wealth studies.
Jukka Kainulainen, CFO at Kempower
Jukka Kainulainen is the Chief Financial Officer at Kempower, a Finnish company specialized in designing and manufacturing DC fast chargers for electric vehicles. Before joining Kempower Kainulainen worked in the biotechnology industry acting as the CFO of Biohit Group. He has also previously worked for large IT companies, e.g. Tieto, CGI and Capgemini.
Outi Helenius, Director of Investments, Impact and ESG at Security Trading Oy
Outi Helenius is responsible of impact and ESG in the investments at Security Trading Oy, the investment company of Antti Herlin’s family. She is also a Board Member at Evli Fund Management Company Ltd and Chairman of the Financial Committee at Tiina and Antti Herlin Foundation.
Lisa Beauvilain, Global Head of Sustainability & Stewardship at Impax Asset Management
Lisa Beauvilain knows sustainability and environmental policy from an investment point of view. She is Director at Impax Asset Management, a specialist investment manager that invests globally in companies and projects within energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable food, water, and waste management. Previously, she has worked as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in London within the Investment Management Division.
Unna Lehtipuu, Director of Communications at Finnfund
Unna Lehtipuu is the Director of Communications and a Member of the Investment Committee at Finnfund, a development financier and impact investor providing businesses operating in developing countries with financial capital and investment loans. She is also a communications and media professional with extensive experience in strategic communication and branding, media, investing, fundraising, sustainability, climate, and development issues. Lehtipuu is also the author of 9 non-fiction books.
Kaisa Alavuotunki, PhD – Director of Impact and Sustainability at Finnfund
Kaisa Alavuotunki is the Director of Impact and Sustainability and a member of the Investment Committee at Finnfund. In her doctoral thesis she wrote about development financing and its impact in developing countries. Before becoming a Director she also worked as the Head of Impact and as Senior Impact Adviser at Finnfund. Alavuotunki has also many years of experience from the consultant industry.
Jussi Ojala, Executive Representative, Private Sector Development at Finn Church Aid (Kirkon Ulkomaanapu)
Jussi Ojala has over two decades of experience spanning international and development cooperation, humanitarian aid, peacebuilding, and mediation. He has worked for the United Nations, European Union, Finnish Parliament, and latest Finnish Church Aid, Finland’s largest international aid organization with operations in 12 countries and more than 70 years of experience. Ojala has also consulted the OEC/IDPS Secretariat during the Ebola response in West Africa 2014-2015, as well as having lived and worked in multiple African countries.
Sami El Geneidy, Doctoral Researcher at University of Jyväskylä
Sami El Geneidy is a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Jyväskylä, School of Resource Wisdom and School of Business and Economics. His research topic focuses on climate and biodiversity accounting in organizations, researching how environmental accounting could be integrated with financial accounting to facilitate more sustainable decision-making.
