Professor Arnis Sauka discussed the expected activities of the newly created State Competitiveness Commission, which includes professionals from various fields such as science, education, and business. Sauka has been appointed as the Chairman of this Commission.

The Commission was established in accordance with Article 7.1 of the law "On ensuring the activities of the State President" and operates under the guidance of the President. Its primary objective is to support the President of the Republic of Latvia in fulfilling constitutional functions and developing proposals to enhance the country's competitiveness in the domains of education, science, and business.

The Commission will focus on practical solutions and best practices, like simplifying administrative procedures, to enhance Latvia's competitiveness.

Notable members of the Commission, alongside Professor Arnis Sauka, include Dr. Vita Rovīte, Dr. Elina Pajuste, Dr. Guntars Kittenbergs, Dr. Andris Šutka, Dr. Daunis Auers, Dr. Uldis Biķis, Pauls Irbins, Arkadijs Zvaigzne, Liene Briede, Kristīne Bērziņa, and Agnese Veckalne.
