Baltic Business Climate Survey 2026

Baltic Business Climate Survey 2026

The Baltic Business Climate Survey 2026 provides fresh insights into the business environment across Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania from the perspective of Swedish companies operating in the region.

Against a backdrop of growing geopolitical uncertainty, Nordic–Baltic cooperation has never been more important.

The 2026 Baltic Business Climate Survey offers a direct account of how Swedish companies view business conditions, investment opportunities and future prospects in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The findings are encouraging: most companies report a profit, and many plan to maintain or increase their investments. At the same time, access to skilled labour, predictable regulation and efficient administration remain important challenges, pointing to considerable untapped growth potential across the region.

The survey was developed jointly by the Swedish Embassies in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, with support from the Swedish Chambers of Commerce. More than 300 company representatives contributed their perspectives. We also thank SAAB, SEB and Stena Line for their support. We hope the findings will encourage further dialogue between businesses and governments on strengthening the Baltic business environment, supporting innovation and building a more resilient and competitive region.
