On June 19-20, SSE Riga will host the 5th Baltic Economic Conference.

The conference is organized by the Baltic Economic Association, in cooperation with Latvijas Banka and the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, with the support of the Baltic International Centre for Economic Policy Studies (BICEPS), the FROGEE network, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and the Baltic Research Programme Project "Global2Micro".

During these two days, more than 80 researchers from around the world will gather to present their ongoing research projects.

The keynote speech will be delivered by Beata Javorcik, Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London, who is currently on leave from the University of Oxford.

The full program is available here.

The Baltic Economic Association was founded in June 2018 in Vilnius. Its aim is to foster the development and application of economics as a science in the Baltic States, as well as to promote and reinforce cooperation among economists from the region.

SSE Riga Associate Professors Nicolas Gavoille and Konstantins Benkovskis currently serve as the President and Treasurer of the Association, respectively.
