SSE Riga celebrates 132 new graduates of the Bachelor Class of 2025

The ceremony began with the entrance of 132 graduates from six countries, accompanied by the SSE Riga Choir performing the traditional Gaudeamus Igitur. Rector Anders Paalzow and SSE Riga Foundation Chairman Anders Rydin delivered speeches highlighting the values of integrity, community, and excellence and educational mission FREE (Fact-based, Reflective, Empathetic, and Entrepreneurial) that define the SSE Riga experience.

Graduates were awarded their diplomas by Rector Paalzow, with special recognition given to the Best Thesis Award winners. This year’s Best Thesis Award went to Madara Inita Drukaļska and Merili Anderson for their thesis “Intra-industry Trade in Services and Eurozone Convergence,” supervised by Konstantīns Beņkovskis.

In the Class of 2025 farewell speech, the graduating class representatives stressed the importance of maintaining close ties within the SSE Riga community after graduation and reminded their peers to keep challenging themselves and never settle.

The ceremony also welcomed new alumni through a speech by Gatis Eglītis from the SSE Riga Alumni Association. Among other lessons, Gatis reminded graduates that challenges are inevitable, but optimism — seeing the glass half full — helps overcome them with smart decisions, hard work, or even a bit of luck.

The Class of 2025 now join the ranks of 3208 alumni, expanding the SSE Riga alumni community that continues to grow in the Baltic region and worldwide.

After the ceremony, graduates attended the traditional Last Lecture in Soros Auditorium, followed by a welcome event, Alumni Cocktails, hosted by the Alumni Association. The celebrations culminated in the highly anticipated Graduation Party, marking the final farewell to the SSE Riga premises for the Class of 2025.
