Public lecture: Crypto Finance and the War in Ukraine

Due to the lecturer's illness, the public lecture has been rescheduled from September 28th to October 7th, 12:15 - 13:00 Riga time.

In the lecture, Marta will explore the role of cryptocurrencies in funding the Russia-Ukraine war.

• To which extent are cryptocurrencies used in Ukrainian fundraising? Who's winning the crypto-fundaraising war - Russia or Ukraine?
• What does crypto trading data tell us about how cryptocurrencies are used in Russia and Ukraine?
• What's the role of crypto regulation in future war financing?

Dr Marta Khomyn is a Lecturer at the Adelaide Business School and a Visiting Lecturer at SSE Riga. Her research focuses on FinTech, Market Microstructure, and Crypto Finance. Marta also consults for the World Bank on  Digital Innovation. Prior to joining the University of Adelaide, Marta has been a Visiting Researcher at Chi-X Australia, a stock exchange. 

Marta holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Technology Sydney, and a MSc in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics. Marta completed her BSc degree at the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (Class of 2014).
