SSE Riga is looking for an IT Technician

As an IT Technician, you will help maintain the necessary IT systems and provide IT support for the daily operations of a business school. You will work as part of a team and receive guidance on company systems, procedures, and the technology environment.

As part of the role, you will:

  • Create and manage user accounts according to established procedures.

  • Set up and maintain user workstations and associated software.

  • Manage meeting room and classroom equipment, including displays, projectors, and video conferencing equipment.

  • Monitor and perform preventive maintenance on IT equipment.

  • Contribute to the development of internal IT documentation and user guides.

  • Maintain accurate inventories of devices, software, and user accounts.

  • Provide first-level technical support to employees, faculty, and students, both in person and remotely.

  • Escalate complex or security-related incidents to the appropriate colleague or service provider.

  • Provide support during lectures and events, occasionally outside normal working hours.

A strong candidate for this role would have:

  • A completed or ongoing higher education qualification in IT.

  • Good working knowledge of Windows computers.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace solutions.

  • Working proficiency in spoken and written Latvian and English.

  • Ability to organise their own work and set priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team.

  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to provide effective technical support.

  • Willingness to learn new systems and follow documented procedures.

  • Knowledge or experience with the following will be considered a major advantage: Windows Server, basic networking concepts, VMware, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Google Workspace, Moodle, PaperCut, and Microsoft 365.
