The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga invites you to a public lecture “President Trump: Reconfiguring the Global Order” with Jeffrey Sommers, Professor of Political Economy and Public Policy at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and Senior Fellow at its Institute of World Affairs.

This lecture is part of the Geopolitics Unscripted series and will examine the changing role of the United States in the global order, including challenges to global influence, control of sea lanes, the global energy regime, the role of the US dollar, and the evolving instruments through which the US shapes the international system.


Sommers

Jeffrey Sommers is a Professor of Political Economy and Public Policy at the University of Wisconsin—Milwaukee and Senior Fellow at their Institute of World Affairs. He has held several US State Department Fulbright Awards to Central & East Europe. Additionally, he has served as an invited specialist for a US State Department new Ambassador training in Washington, DC. Furthermore, his counsel has been sought by investors, along with ministerial and government leaders to the Prime Minister level. In addition to his academic work, he has been published in outlets such as the Financial Times, The New York Times, Project Syndicate, The Guardian, The Nation, Social Europe, Jacobin and others.
