The annual Staffan Burenstam Linders Scholarship Award Ceremony took place at the Stockholm School of Economics (in Stockholm) on September 7, 2011.

Both recipients will study in the MSc. programme at the Stockholm School of Economics – with Sandra focusing on management and Vilma on financial economics.
The award ceremony was followed by a talk on “Europe in Crisis” by renowned Swedish journalist Rolf Gustavson.
The Staffan Burenstam Linder Scholarship Foundation was established in 2001 to commemorate Professor Staffan Burenstam Linder (1931-2000), former President of the Stockholm School of Economics and founding father of SSE Riga. Graduates from SSE Riga who are pursuing studies at the Masters or Doctoral level in the Nordic countries are eligible to apply for the scholarship. With the 2011 awards, a total of 16 students have received scholarships since the first was awarded in 2001.
