SSE Riga will participate in a new project on smart city development
SSE Riga, as a partner within the NordBiz network, will take part in another educational project in Finland.
For a number of years SSE Riga has been an active member of the NordBiz network, which aims to facilitate co-operation between universities and enterprises and improve the exchange of information and know-how.
The NordBiz network includes eight higher education institutions from Sweden, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. This partnership has resulted in successful and thriving cooperation in many fields, e.g. annual intensive courses at one of the network universities, a double degree programme, student and teacher exchange, deans’ meetings, and working groups for various development projects (please see: http://www.nordbiz.org/projects-24918578).
Within the framework of co-operation, every year joint international projects and courses are prepared and implemented. The course themes vary and for 2017 the main topic will be smart city development. Considering the importance of the topic, the NordBiz network was kindly invited to conduct the course in the Lahti municipality.
“This will be a great opportunity to work with a real case; however, it will also put a lot of pressure on all the participants since innovative and applicable solutions are expected from them,” says SSE Riga research associate and project coordinator Aivars Timofejevs.
More information on the project will follow in autumn.
