SSE Riga to Participate in a New Research Project
On the 15th of December, 2011 a kick-off meeting for CB ENTREINT (Central Balticum Entrepreneurship Interaction) took place at the Aalto University Small Business Centre in Helsinki, Finland.
The project will start its activities in March of 2011 and will be implemented by five partners – Aalto University Small Business Centre (Lead Partner), the University of Tartu, Tallinn Technological University, the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga and the Latvian Technology Centre. The project is financed by the Interreg IV Central Baltic Programme.
The role of education in promoting entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours is now widely recognized in the European Union, but in the Central Baltic area the competency of teachers of entrepreneurship skills varies in different countries. The project will contribute to solving this problem in several ways, including: An analysis of the entrepreneurship training needs for the entrepreneurship teachers; an analysis of the buzz platforms in Finland, Estonia and Latvia; the development of a cross-border network between Finnish, Estonian and Latvian buzz platforms, educational institutions, and SMEs for more intensified collaboration and development of entrepreneurship pedagogy; and development of a training program for entrepreneurship teachers in the region. It is expected that the project will increase awareness of the importance of the interaction between higher education institutions and the business community, and will facilitate an exchange of knowledge and experience for both companies and development organisations.
