SSE Riga students recently won first place in the Project Management Championship
The Project Management Championship among Latvian universities has been organised with the aim to deepen students’ knowledge and interest in project management on a local and international level.
SSE Riga’s team won first place and Viktoria Pilinko and Ott Oja got the opportunity to get the internationally recognized IPMA Project Management Level D Certificate, worth 400.00 LVL (in case of successfully passing the certification exam).
28 teams took part in this championship and eventually the six strongest competed in the final on June 7th, among them SSE Riga students Viktoria Pilinko and Ott Oja.
In the qualification round students had to fill in an on-line test with 100 questions in 2 hours. In the final round a case study was offered, and teams had to develop solutions to problems and present them to an international jury consisting of experts from the Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian and Finnish Project Management Associations. The final round was held at the Turība Business School.
The Riga Technical University team won second place, and third place went to a joint team from the Riga Graduate School of Law and SSE Riga. In total, students from seven universities competed in this championship (Riga Technical University, the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration, the Riga Graduate School of Law, Daugavpils University, Rēzekne University, and the Vidzeme University of Applied Sciences).
The Project Management Championship was organised by the Latvian National Project Management Association Young Crew.
