SSE Riga student Edvīns Elferts joins the Mission Possible programme

21 new participants of the Mission Possible (Iespējamā misija) programme will start their work in schools across Latvia this autumn. This year’s participant from SSE Riga’s graduating class, Edvīns Elferts, will be teaching mathematics and economics to secondary school pupils.

The mission of the programme is to strengthen the value of quality education in Latvia by assisting talented university graduates to become inspiring teachers and future leader.
 

This year there were 746 students interested in the the Mission Possible programme, 299 candidates eventually applied, and 21 of them were admitted.

21 new participants of the Mission Possible programme

Mission Possible is a programme envisaged for university graduates and future leaders which offers to develop leadership talent, shape their careers and help them obtain an understanding of life while working for two years as teachers in schools across Latvia. During this period of time participants of Mission Possible enhance their teaching and leadership skills and in addition to a teacher’s salary they receive a stipend for work, training and performance of additional duties. The implementation of the programme Mission Possible has been inspired by similar programmes abroad.
