SSE Riga presents its BSc programme during the Day of Sweden in Minsk
On June 3rd, representatives of SSE Riga took part in the Day of Sweden in Minsk, Belarus (photo above by Sergey Lukashov). During the event one could find cultural, educational, informational and entertainment activities for every taste related to Sweden. SSE Riga, of course, represented the sector of higher education.
Every year 7-8% of the student body at SSE Riga is represented by students from Belarus, and this was a wonderful opportunity to present SSE Riga to residents and guests of the capital city of Belarus.
SSE Riga Executive Vice President of Development Yuri Romanenkov took the chance to introduce young Belarusians to study opportunities at SSE Riga. The presentation was held in a special tent where education topics were discussed during the event. In addition to the overview of the bachelor’s programme, Yuri Romanenkov shared stories of the Belarusian community at SSE Riga and discussed the career paths of the School’s alumni and their current employment in Belarus. Yuri also touched on the financial support provided by the Swedish government to students from Belarus (read more about the grant here >).
The Day of Sweden concluded the Week of Swedish Culture and was organized by the Embassy of Sweden to the Republic of Belarus for the first time in the city. As Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Sweden to the Republic of Belarus Martin Oberg said: “We have tried to present Sweden in miniature.”
