SSE Riga is launching the Peter Greste Freedom of Speech Award in the Baltics

SSE Riga is proud to announce a Call for Nominations for the Peter Greste Freedom of Speech Award in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia! 

The aim of the Peter Greste Freedom of Speech Award is to reward people who have made a substantial contribution towards defending and enhancing freedom of speech in the Baltics. A EUR 500 prize will be awarded to a journalist, activist, writer or organisation from each of the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) who has actively engaged in the defence and enhancement of freedom of speech and expression over the past year.

The Award will be presented at a public ceremony on 24 August in Riga. Deadline for submitting nominations is Thursday, August 1, 2017.
