This series of informal seminars is FREE, by invitation only, and aimed at CEO and board-level decision makers who have an active interest in new ideas, in finding new approaches for solving business problems, and in the development of practical solutions for improving business performance.

The theme of the discussion was User-driven Innovation: unlocking extra value through customer ideas.

Dr. Yusaf H. Akbar, Professor of Management andDirector of Central European University Business School’s MBA programme and co-founder of the Braintrust Network, presented his latest research on User-driven Innovation and how it can be implemented in today’s world.

“In a post-crisis business environment, the ability to deliver greater value to consumers and customers at reduced cost must be a fundamental goal of any organisation, large and small. However, innovation is a risky business with producer-driven innovation achieving a success rate of only around 25% across most industries whereas, by directly involving consumers and customers in the development of new ideas and concepts, companies can benefit from the input of “passionate amateurs” for free and significantly increase this success rate.

With regard to user-driven innovation, the key question for companies now is not why one should do it, but rather how to do it? “

The presentation was followed by a discussion.

The theme of next roundtable discussion is The Big Picture: a new framework for developing a marketing strategy.
