The Stockholm School of Economics in Riga in collaboration with Junior Achievement Latvia and the Municipality of Madona is organizing the annual Junior Entrepreneurship Summer School (JESS) - a week long entrepreneurship summer school for high school students. JESS will take place from August 7-12 at the Business Incubator of Madona.

21 gifted young people have started their journey in the Future Leaders Academy at SSE Riga, which will be run over five weekends this summer. The aim of the programme is to educate, inspire and develop the leadership potential of future Latvian political and community leaders.

FT Executive Education Rankings 2017: SSE Riga Executive Education is #1 in the Nordic and Baltic region
On May 15, 2017, the Financial Times published their annual worldwide ranking of executive education providers. According to the latest worldwide ranking, SSE Riga Executive Education is the number 1 provider in the Nordic and Baltic region and 26th in the world as part of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) group. This year SSE has advanced its position in the global ranking by 2 positions.
In 2016, Latvia saw a slight contraction of the shadow economy, thus continuing the long-term trend since 2013. In contrast, there has been a modest increase in the size of shadow economies in Lithuania and Estonia. Following this trend for several consecutive years, the gap between the sizes of shadow economies in the three Baltic countries has diminished considerably – a conclusion drawn by the authors of the annual survey of the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE Riga) Shadow Economy Index published today.
Recently SEB Latvia awarded SSE Riga students Reinis Frēlihs and Oskars Daugavvanags with scholarships of 5000 EUR each. SEB is a long-term partner of SSE Riga and has actively contributed to its development since the very beginning in 1994.
The Entrepreneurship Training Course will be organized in Daugavpils from the 26th of April to the 9th of June 2017. Participants will learn about entrepreneurial identity, work in teams to develop business ideas and present their results at the end of the course in front of a panel of experts.

The 36th Anders Wall Award Ceremony took place in Stockholm on March 10th. This year’s Anders Wall scholarship was awarded to SSE Riga student Reinis Beķeris, who received the grant of SEK 75 000.
