Entrepreneurship educators from Latvia participate in the networking event

A networking event, “Entrepreneurship education and Central Baltic networks”,  took place on 13-14 March in Helsinki, Finland. Representatives from Baltic and Finnish educational institutions, business laboratories, and municipalities participated in the event.

The networking event consisted of two parts, which included lectures, presentations and case studies, where local representatives shared their experiences and introduced new ideas and educational methods in the field of entrepreneurial education in Finland. Participants learned about guidelines for entrepreneurship education in Finland, received information about the Aalto University Business Start-Up Centre, Finland’s entrepreneurship education projects, and other useful information about situation in Finland.

SSE Riga, as one of the project partners, organised participation of Latvian entrepreneurship educators in the networking event, including representatives of the University of Latvia, University of Agriculture, Liepaja University, Daugavpils University, Ventspils University College, Vidzeme University College, Jobs&Society Latvia and SSE Riga Business Lab.

Participants highly appreciated the opportunity to learn about Finnish experience in entrepreneurship education. “The main benefit from this event was that I got support for my ideas of entrepreneurship education, and saw how the government of Finland cares about the future of their youth, they are forward – looking, and know how to successfully manage these processes.  They also know how to educate society, educators, and academic staff so all of them can manage to work together as a united team, thus promoting the development of a sustainable society.” Dr.oec. professor emeritus at the University of Latvia, Veronika Bikse.
