Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world’s largest celebration of the innovators and job-creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare.
During one week each November, thousands of events and competitions around the world inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors. Countries across six continents come together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), an initiative to inspire young people to embrace innovation, imagination and creativity.
This is the third time Latvia is participating in Global Entrepreneurship Week. SSE Riga is an official host of Global Entrepreneurship Week in Latvia.
Last year alone, more than 7 million people participated in nearly 38,000 events during GEW – including startup competitions, mentoring marathons, global speed-networking events and more!
Pupils, students, teachers, business representatives are invited to participate in various events during the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Latvia!

#InnovationRiga Conference
November 12
This event will be the central event within GEW week in Latvia. The aim of the event is to share scaling experiences of most successful creative and tech start-upsand to explore the success cases and formulate strategies for university-business links to create stimulating environment for high growth entrepreneurship.

Latvian Cleantech Ideas Competiton
November
The Goal of Latvian Cleantech Ideas Competition is to find most successful and promising cleantech ideas in Latvia and to reward the best with opportunity to represent Latvia in competition finals at Cleantech Open Global Forum that will take place in Silicon Valley during the Global Entrepreneursip Week in 2012.

Idea Lab

A fast-track coaching event for productive business idea development. Unlike numerous other start-up-planning trainings, Idea Lab is aimed at developing the initial and most important phase of the entrepreneurship process – formulating and addressing consumer wishes and desires that the new product or service satisfies or problems it solves.

Junior Peaktime Competition - Finals

Business competition - Junior Peak Time - will challenge high school students from the Baltic countries. The competition is aimed at those who want to prove their individual and team-work skills in the spheres of business and economics.The competition exceeds one's boarders in a sense of know-what and know-how by providing the most talented students new material of knowledge connected with business and economics and afterwards providing ground for applying the gained knowledge in practice. It involves participants from Eastern Europe and Scandinavia.
